If we’re being honest, it’s so obvious that Pitchfork hates X. I’m not saying that the rating wasn’t fair nor am I saying anyone’s opinion is wrong but it’s like they didn’t even TRY to listen to the album. (To put it into perspective - they gave dummy boy a 3.5 and they have skins a 3. Thats fucking stupid lmao how do you put dummy boy over skins? Even if skins wasn’t amazing to most people I’m sure most of us can agree it was better than 69s album.) They didn’t even critique certain songs. They didn’t analyze any songs. They talked about how Jocelyn Flores provided the listener with some depth while no song on skins did that... but guardian angel is literally Jocelyn Flores 2.0 lmao if it’s not better than Jocelyn Flores then it’s right there with it in terms of depth and production. All this article was was another article about his abusive past that we all know about. It failed to do its job at actually critiquing the music without any bias because OBVIOUSLY there’s a huge fucking bias against X within pitchfork. Maybe I’m just a mad X fanboy but their article gets a zero rating from me and it’s not even because they think skins is bad it’s because it’s not even a fucking article that judges the album (which it’s supposed to be) it’s just another article that talks about how shitty of a person he was when he was a teenager like we don’t already know that.
