Dodgers featured prominently: ‘This Should Be the Biggest Scandal in Sports'

I think the NFL using racist eugenics to deny black players concussion payouts is a much bigger scandal. That is like shockingly abhorrent.

I’m disappointed in the org for presumably going to the lengths they did to acquire Bauer and his sticky stuff. Even though adhesives had been a part of the game for like a century, I think this is where the line should be drawn. Ultimately, I think the league, the owners and the clubs themselves should be responsible, even if it’s my favorite club.

Though, every villain has an origin story. The team was cheated in 2017, probably cheated in 2018 and then fell short of expectations the next year, only to have the Asstros stuff come out that offseason. That club was barely punished, outside of getting beaned and booed a lot the players didn’t face any major repercussions. So, if the league doesn’t care that the Dodgers were presumably cheated twice in a row on the biggest stage, why not try pushing the boundaries? Obviously using sticky stuff for spin rate is a different animal than in-real-time sign stealing.

Idk if this is the wrong analysis but the trash can/monitor/center field camera system was an advanced form of “gamesmanship” where runners on second would get signs from the catcher, or how clubs use footage and Vr machines to see how pitchers deliveries are different on certain pitches to relay that information to the players. So now this lab made adhesive is probably the “too far” step of applying bubblegum or sunscreen or rosin/spit whatever for a better spin rate. It’s too much, too many players are getting hit, too many shitter pitchers are having career years and hitting has plummeted league wide. There’s so much to think about, maybe I just don’t wanna go back into work lmfao.
