It has nothing to do with unionizing. When the box is taped like that and looks really good, it's very tempting to hit "like new", because you have to answer less questions on the computer and it's easier to hit production, about 300 units an hour. The chance of getting caught is about 50/50 if the taping has been done really well and the box looks brand new. However if the customer gets caught, there is a suspected abuse button, but I very rarely hit that when I worked there, the adrenaline rush of going fast in the fun, carnival-like environment of their warehouse just makes you want to keep going to the next box. Their warehouse is very different from any other in that it is more like a fun game than a job, so it might draw workers who are maybe not as serious or have as much experience as other warehouses that pay comparably.
