I know, that was a poor choice of words (in fact I was specifically trying to avoid implying there was a "right" way to do the voice, but I guess that one slipped out).

It's sort of an even-ish split at the moment. Aside from the famous DCAU version, Granny also had a very manly voice in Gods and Monster, and even Cloris Leachman's portrayal in Justice League action (which is also fantastic, I might add) is very deep and has this sort of... foreboding about it.

I guess it just felt to me like YJ's version of Granny lacks a certain gravitas, since I prefer the deeper, more inhuman sounding performances. That said, that last line of the episode was actually pretty good, so it's entirely possible I'll come around to it. She's only spoken a little bit so far, so I'm not gonna try to judge it fully until we've heard a bit more.
