To Escape the Body: A Review of Helen Joyce’s Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality, pt. 2 – the Causes and Rationalization of Transgenderism

From my perspective, feminism tells girls "Your pain is real and is intentionally caused by men who only see you as a sex object. Your pain more than justifies any pain you cause them, so you don't need to consider how your actions might affect them." and boys "Look at the pain your gender causes women. Your pain is negligible in comparison and well-deserved for the pain your gender causes. You are always responsible for considering how your actions affect women, regardless of your intent.", which is in large part the impetus for my distrust of the yes means yes movement. I don't think either is a healthy message. Specifically for girls, I think this results in girls deliberately encouraging men to behave in ways that trigger that pain because the emotional high of self-righteous anger has become a coping mechanism. For example, wearing shirts that draw attention to their chests (SFW).
