I Have A Few Mods To Suggest

It'd be nice if you shared why you thought these would be good mods to add.

We did have The Spice Of Life in the modpack before, but it got canned because it added new stress of figuring out how to carry a dozen different types of food with the player. Other hunger-related mods we've tried are Apple Core, Hunger Overhaul and we're currently testing Hunger Strike.

Minecraft Unabridged adds several mods with new foods including Forestry and Plant Mega Pack. One goal of the hunger mods was to encourage players to try different ways of satisfying their hunger. Unfortunately, players have instead been making methods to avoid the hunger system altogether so the current iteration with Hunger Strike makes it so players don't need to eat (eating heals the player) with Natural Absorption and Heart Drop so that players can heal without carrying food at all.

So adding The Spice Of Life really wouldn't do anything except making food the rest of the way to useless - at least the way the hunger system is currently set up. If you have any insights with respect to how you think hunger should work then feel free to join the debate. Nothing's carved in stone and we're still doing a lot of testing. The main concern is that, in the past players have rushed to get to the point where eating is no longer a concern, so the current hunger system just puts the players there by default.
