Finished my first week.

I think I'm a different breed of driver than most others on here. My rig is a company truck that's leased, so it's not really mine. I'm also an hourly wage employee driver, as apposed to a mile earning OTR O/O. Which means I get paid whether my truck is rolling or not. And my company pays for the fuel and maintenance on the truck.

I work Mon-Thurs, 4 days per week, or Tues-Fri if that week has a Stat Holiday.

My drop off "client" in Boucherville is also the same company I work for in Ottawa (Actually Stittsville), so it's all internal shipping. I don't haul loads for anyone else, and I'm free to leave my home terminal whenever I want. My Back-haul for my return trip to Ottawa, generally isn't ready until about 11:00 am to Noon, so if I'm early, I can sit and take an hour lunch break if I want, and even though I should be pin to pin, I don't mind waiting for a live load, and I don't mind giving a helping hand if they are swamped or short handed. I was a warehouse worker for 15 years, before I became a driver, so I know a thing or 2 about loading trucks.

I think I will stick to the 416 to the 401. It's really relaxing to me, and I like putting along at 100 km/h, but it's great to know I have options, especially if there's an accident like the one in a Gananoque the other day, and I can take a detour.

What company do you drive for? If you drive the 401 every other day, you might have passed by me a couple of times. I'll try and keep an eye out for you, but if you see a big white Cintas rig, give me a couple of air horn blasts. I'll try to get my cb radio fixed before Monday.
