Framestep created by pluot

This program is useful for, among other things, getting data on the frame dis/advantage of moves on block.

A simple example: Say you want to see how plus or minus C - Tohno's 5c is on block after it is canceled with his 22d (teleport feint). One way of doing this is having another Tohno block that series and see which one jumps first. We can get the exact number of frame advantage or disadvantage by counting how many frames it takes before the other Tohno jumps too.

  1. Make a dummy recording of the 5c > 22d being executed on a blocking opponent and holding up so it jumps as soon as possible.

  2. Start Framestep, if you haven't already. (see below; you can't run cccaster and framestep at the same time)

  3. Make 1P and 2P Tohno Shiki. Allow the recording to play as you block. It helps to set the dummy to Wait so that they start the string only after pressing Function 2.

  4. During blockstun, Press P. Start holding up.

  5. While holding up, hit space until the first frame one of the Tohnos is airborne. When one is, start counting frames!

  6. When the other Tohno is airborne, stop counting. The number of frames between the first and second tohno catching air is the amount of dis/advantage the second tohno is in after blocking the 5c.

You should find that the attacking Tohno is -14 after 5c 22d.
