I don't give a fuck what happens you do not boo your own team. Especially if they're in a slump, two very important parts of hockey are momentum and morale, if you lose those you're fucked. Part of what kept the Isles going last year was the roaring thunder of a crowd at Nassau Coliseum, it gave them life for fuck sakes, even at home it shook me senseless and made my heart pound out of my fucking chest. As a fan it was a tremendous feeling. Now imagine you're one of the Islanders, on the ice, chips are down, shits doesn't work out all the time, as a human beings (remember? They're people) we all tend to lose faith in ourselves from time to time but the one thing that will always light a fire under your ass is the reminder that there are those who love and have faith in you. The Isles need that right now, they're getting used to a new home, it's the beginning of a new season, things have changed a little and they're trying to adjust, so why the fuck do you kick off the new season in their new home by booing the team you supposedly love? Fuck you. Pricks. I'm an Islanders fan from Toronto, have been since I was 4 years old in 1995 and my dad bought me one of those godawful fisherman jerseys. Well I loved it. I loved it so much I never let it go. I got the shit kicked out of me in '01 when Darcy Tucker ultimately gooned us out of the first round. I was a goalie who practised in my Isles jersey. People actually gave me shit (Toronto has been humbled as of recent, even though they always kinda sucked) Sorry for the rant, point is, I love this goddamn team and there is not a thing in the world that would compel me to boo them, no amount of shit kicking, shit talking, or shit playing stopped me. These guys are a part of our goddamn identity, it's in the team name goddammit. All of you are Islanders. That's what makes this team so special, the people of Toronto aren't Leafs and the people of Calgary aren't flames. This is the People's Team, the fans are just as important to success as the team itself. So stop booing, and start yelling and screaming and just get extra fucking insane at the next home game.
