I've been lurking on and off for a couple months now and ngl, there's almost too much information. I did recently find BOD's Easy AF methods and I'm thinking of starting with Bod's easy AF cheapest way to get started TEK.

If I am correct, people use agar to... make sure their liquid culture (syringes?) are not contaminated and also to... keep growing (cloning???) mushrooms once they've used the first source (spores) so they don't have to keep buying more liquid culture. And an alternate to using agar is getting spore prints? Can I just not worry about anything agar and be okay? Maybe I should worry about this once I actually get started and have actual fruiting bodies to do anything with.

I am gonna take a plunge and just try it out once. Any newbies here?
