Going to Zermatt!!!

That’s so exciting! I’m happy for you! As soon as you arrive, try to get to the grocery store away from the Main Street and get staples for packed lunches and other meals. My hired guide told me that the grocery prices away from the main drag were controlled by the government so that residents could actually afford to eat. This makes sense pretty much anywhere you go I guess. The food in Zermatt is really awful in the restaurants and the prices are are staggering. I vaguely remember spending like $15 USD for a fountain coke on the top of the mountain. And remember to hydrate. I got a lot out of an insulated Camelback on my second trip. The high altitude and dehydration on my first trip, combined with a sudden storm, was a close call. Have fun and be careful! Best skiing ever!
