I feel like I'm missing something.

This reads like you wanted to get into this fandom, and use real authors, despite your discomfort. 'Recent' is subjective unless you've specified a timeframe, so I find your complaints about that a bit strange.

If you want to use people from further in the past, the majority will have views that would be at least partially unpalatable to modern sensitivities. If the guy was RPing Roald Dahl, was he going all out on antisemitism, or did you simply pick that reputation to rule out his choice, even if it never came up in an RP?

This whole thing reads, to me, like you go into a fandom, and 'type' of roleplay that you simply don't like - but instead of walking away, you complained about every aspect of your partner until they blocked you.

I would suggest that, if your opinion is your last sentence, you don't engage in roleplays that will have that as the clearly stated aim. If you do, and then complain about the aspects you have agreed to, it seems completely reasonable that your partner would walk.

If something makes you uncomfortable, don't do it. If you choose to do it, don't try to blame others when you are still uncomfortable with it. Take some responsibility for your own choices.
