Got invited to my 10 year high school reunion...not sure if I should go. Don't want them to know what a loser I became.

Hi, let me share. I'm 35, and at a similar age to yours, I was in the same boat. I'd gone to college and grad school, but a fat lot of good that did me. At 27-28 I was living with a roommate, working a series of go-nowhere jobs that just barely paid the bills. I had no idea what I was going to do with my life, and it was really wearing on me. I had moments where I emotionally collapsed thinking about it all.

Then, out of nowhere, I was managed to latch onto a new job off Monster that turned out being the best thing that ever happened to me. Those years of sending out resumes finally paid off! I changed industries and never looked back. If I wasn't too old, then neither are you! Now I admit, my degree made this a little easier for me, but I say: continue the education route! Whether it's college, or certification, or taking the actuarial exam, you have options! You're in the prime of your youth and have plenty of time!

My advice? When it comes to the high school reunion, forget about it! I've never been to a single one and I never plan to. I have no fond memories of high school at all, because it's not a very nice place in general (Equestria Girls, I'm talking to you!) You think you were a high school loser? I got elected homecoming king as a coordinated ironic joke. Top that.

As for your career, I hope you're looking nationwide. Be ready to hop on a plane and move to a new state if there's a good job waiting for you. I've done this several times, and it's scary, but I wouldn't be where I am today if I hunkered down in one city. Get certified in the field of your choice and then get ready to move if an employer wants you to. I have never once in my life found a job in the city (or state!) I just happen to live in. Keep the faith, and you can change your life!
