Assuming you could completely liquidate the forbes 400 and capture all that revenue, it wouldn't fund the US government for 6 months. There simply isn't enough money there even if you completely soak the rich. I'm not arguing against taxing them more, but a huge amount of money comes from the fact that many people pay taxes, the system doesn't work without people paying. Government spending is high because someone asked for it, one man's waste is another man's job.

People on Reddit will complain that not paying taxes or stealing from stores doesn't affect anyone directly and then turn around and defend CO2 taxing schemes and pollution laws as if this isn't like the exact same scenario around a different issue.
