GOTG 3 IMAX 3D or IMAX 2D

Jesus Christ. I’ve been to more 3D movies than most. I’ve seen a lot of 3D movies in dual laser IMAX. And I can tell the fucking difference between a projection issues and scene specific artifacts for which 3D is notorious for because they don’t take the time to convert them properly anymore. Stop bullshitting me. I’m sitting at least two or three rows closer to the screen than most of you and I have fucking eyes. I’ve seen badly layered Tom Cruise climb up a cliff because Fallout was in 3D only because of the Chinese marked and big theaters in Germany show 3D movies predominantly in 3D even if it makes no fucking sense like with Fallout, with Dune, or with NTTD. And I wouldn’t be so pissed if I had one bad experience. I had like five good ones. Out of dozens of movies. And the more I learn about filmmaking, storytelling, projection, and presentation technology, the cleaner it becomes to me that 3D has no place in an IMAX and adds fucking nothing accept giving you guys the feeling you’re seeing something premium. Which you so desperately need with how badly most stuff is shot and graded these days. A good 2D projection will always be more intimate, grand, and immersive than the best 3D. And you can come tell me that, after you’ve seen Oppenheimer and didn’t miss 3D for one second. Because if a movie is actually shot halfway competently, it doesn’t need anything extra. And that we’ve given up 70mm for this crap is just the icing on the cake.

Please don’t take this too personally, this goes to all the previous commenters in this conversation before you too.
