GURPS the Video Game

Hey Steve Jackson Games, I am currently working with a buddy from art school on creating an overhead view pc game based on your 3rd edition of GURPS. It will be similar to the Baldurs Gate series on PC which uses 2nd Edition D&D as a leveling up system and original Fallout 1 & 2. Though D&D has advanced since then and has been used in newer games with the newer improved edition but still being very linear in the fact that still uses primitive weaponry. I feel that your GURPS still has a solid foothold in the RPG community as a very versatile form of tabletop gameplay that can be picked up and used with little experience in any genre of gameplay. That being said, it should not be left untouched in the realm of video games. And most importantly, not forgotton.

My idea is simple. I want to create multiple games over time based on your GURPS system that places up to 6 players in different genres depending on the game. Then player's characters can then be exported and imported with all gear and experience to and from each of these games whether single player or multiplayer. So a space adventurer can quickly find himself in the old West chasing bounties with an English Knight and an elven Soceress.

There has been a significant increase in these type of rpgs on the pc because of independent developers and crowd funding. "Beamdog" is one example of a company that revamped the Baldurs Gate series on pc and is now creating a brand new Baldurs Gate game that takes place between the two. "Pillars of Eternity" is another game that has risen to the spotlight and "Wasteland 2" as well. There are many others that I could honorably mention.

The fact of the matter is we are looking for support from your company to launch a crowd funding campaign to get these games made.

I am in need of any backers and or programmers that feel the same as i do to contact me via my profile or this forum.
