He told his daughter: "Don't tell anyone that your father is a janitor, they will laugh at you" she posted this photo on social networks and wrote: "My dad is a janitor. He is my pride. I love you, dad."

The year was 1994. I came from a public School in Brazil, and went to a private school that my father was a janitor, I was 12 years old then, it was normal for me, no big deal. I'm proud of him.

I took him lunch every day, because before that he ate cold food, he left the house very early.

Then the other kids starting asking: who is that man you was talking?

And I answered: He is my father.

Then they started to treat me like I was nothing, a completely horrendous person. Then the swearing started. Then the beating. I was a pariah to them.

Whenever I said something, someone interrupted me and said: shut up, janitor! Go wash some toilet!

The first 3 months I got good grades, but then it was just a downhill.

I was a smart and creative kid, but I started loosing interest in School, I could not kept stop thinking about these things, and I was worried every time, everyday. I was suffering with severe anxiety. So I started to avoid my father, skip class almost everyday and started wandering around the city by bus, until it was time to go home. He soon notice that, and was thinking I was ashamed of him, but I was not, I was just trying to avoid the beating and all those things.

He died thinking that his son was ashamed that he was a janitor.

I was just an immature boy and did not know how to cope with this situation.

I wish I had the same beautiful attitude as this girl.
