Hedonism and ADHD

I have a feeling that as people get older they tend to see futility in self indulgent pleasures and seek more meaning pleasures such as contributing to one's community, pleasures through social interactions, empathy, ego, belonging etc.

If suffering is reduced through giving in to hedonism, and that in turn makes you happier and more able to achieve harmony with others, I think that's plenty reasonable.

Some may feel like hedonism damages their spirit so to speak, their self worth, their place in the world, their connection to others, but I feel that people shouldn't deny themself life's bounties and instead be realistic, if it's worth it in to you and holds a risk you're willing to take, have at it. Even better if it's worth it on the long term, but temporary happiness is not inherently bad.

Hedonism doesn't have to be degenerative or ultimately pointless. Something I remember being said by people dying of old age is that they wish they'd lived their life more freely, that they've taken more chances, that they've let them selves free to enjoy and to love.

Avoiding cleaning will make you life harder in the long run if you make a habit of it, it becomes more tolerable as times goes on. It's just something that we have to deal with, you will enjoy things less if your environment is draining your energy.
