Hi I'm new, also some Creed question

I loved the film as well, it didn't make my top 10 but it was still a really good movie.

Creed was my second favourite movie of last year, and I'm not even a rocky fan (I've only seen 4, and know the basic plot of 1)

That's actually part of the reason. It was basically the same plot as the first Rocky movie. That's not a bad thing at all, it's a perfect underdog story, but it's hard to rank a film very high when it's basically the same thing story we've already seen before. I think that's part of the reason The Force Awakens wasn't as popular in the top 10 list, because, and I know it's a cliche by now, very similar to A New Hope.

Now this doesn't stop both movies from being very good, but it's hard to rank them as high as some of the other films in the top 10, because they don't stick with you as much as something new.

Now this usually wouldn't change anything, usually the voters could get by something like that, but this is a very good year for film. There were some fantastic movies this year, and when you have to pick and choose among these movies you're gonna nitpick, and when you nitpick you're gonna sort movies away because of small reasons like their similarities to their predecessors, and that's probably why I had Creed outside my top 10. If it had come out the year before it probably would have made my top 10, but this year was great and so it had a lot of tough competition.

Now having said all that, watch Rocky man! Watch all the Rocky series. 4 is a propaganda piece so it's not the best one to base your opinion on the series on, but the first one is one of if not the best sports movies of all time. Rocky is easily the best of the series, followed closely by Creed and then after a relatively significant drop you have 2 then Balboa then 3 then 4 then 5. Still, besides 5 though they're all worth a watch, and I'm not even a boxing fan, they appeal to all audiences, and they're easily Stallone's best work.
