I just went to a place that is great for kids. It's called Toms Creek Falls. I heard it could get crowded on the weekend, but when we went Thursday Morning, it wasn't bad at all. beautiful flat trail, easy for the whole family. There's more exploring to do, if you're up for it, but to see the falls is an easy trail. There's another easy trail called Cascades in Pembook, VA. This one is not as easy as the first, but I think a 2 year old could handle it. Both are about 2.5 hours away from Winston. Side note, if you have ever seen the movie Dirty Dancing, the 2nd trail is about 4 or 5 miles from the filming location and a great place to get lunch after the hike.
