Ok to kill wildlife at Hanging Rock?

Your logic has so many holes that I am not really sure what your point is here. Number one, its a state park, meant for nature enthusiasts to appreciate nature. Number two, its their job and literally in the job description. Sounds like you are unsuccessfully trying to spin this and make me sound like some “snowflake” because I did the responsible thing and notified the proper authorities instead of escalating the situation and taking the law into my own hands. Maybe you would have beat up a 17 year old since you’re such a tough guy, but you do you. Fists are like guns, if you cant solve your problems without them, then you got bigger problems that will probably get you killed someday. Like me, I assume you come from a hunting family too, but my dad would have beat my ass if he found out I had killed an animal just to watch it die. Thats not sport—thats just a future psych ward patient getting off on being cruel.

BTW, I was just minding my own business in less than 20 sq feet in an 7000+ acre state park while photographing the wildlife. This little bastard comes up and loses his shit over a little snake and starts throwing logs and swinging branches within inches of my expensive tripod and camera set-up, then has the nerve to try and stare me down like he is billy bad-ass looking for a fight. After sizing me up he realized the odds weren’t in his favor, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t go harass someone else, possibly one of the elderly guys down the shore fishing. But according to your logic I shouldn’t report him because “...what difference would it have made if OP had never even noticed...” So other than throat punching the little bitch—notifying the authorities was really the best option, so don’t try to spin your “tattle-tale” bullshit with me. The fact is, they just didn’t care. They didn’t care that this kid was being aggressive towards park guests, or care that he was trying to kill the wildlife, or even care that the little dumbass might get bit by a potentially venomous snake. Thats a major fail in my book. Good for you that you live such a blessed and privileged life that you can have such low standards, but I am glad that at least our other civil servants like police officers, fire fighters, and ambulance drivers, etc., take their jobs more seriously.
