Any time people try to make a piece of media into some kind of culture war (Captain Marvel, Ghostbusters remake, Mad Max, Star Wars...) I FUCKING LOVE IT out of spite, even if it's only okay.

Really, all of the things I listed were only okay (except for MM, which was amazing) and I'd be lukewarm on them and forget them immediately if a huge part of the population hadn't turned it into "THE END OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION".

I think that part of giving women more of a voice in pop culture is just letting them make mediocre shit and moving on, like we've done for centuries for men.

But yeah, part of that also is that I don't really want to talk about the reasons I didn't like it or it didn't work because I don't want to be lumped in with the anti-woke crowd lmao.
