I would find a very large beach scene to hang above the bed, take down the little round wall art to the right of the window - it is being swallowed. You need large, oversized pieces of art - In addition to the beach scene over the bed, a nice large black and white piece on the wall opposite the bed would break up the color some and give a nice contrast. A smaller piece of art above the desk that goes along with the black and white piece would be nice - especially something that is also black and white with some light color in places.

The curtains are fine - I actually like how it blends. I would also add some sheer fabric, darker like brown or black to the top of the curtains and allow it to cascade down on the sides.

Two rugs - one large one under the bed with similar colors of the beach scene above the bed, and a smaller rug incorporating the chair. A faux animal skin would look really good in that area.

I would also add a standing lamp by the chair, especially one that hangs over the chair for a cozy reading space.

Lastly, some kind of greenery - a faux ficus it two would look good. Greenery always gives a room life.
