So, I've moved into an apartment that's got a rustic, loft type feel. It's in a converted textile mill. This is my first real attempt at homemaking, and I'm having a blast. Anyway, for whatever reason, this couch really grabbed me. Something about plunking something regal down in a more rustic place seemed fun, but I'm having trouble deciding on what sort of rug would complement it well.

I've considered going complimentary, but red and green just screams Christmas to me. My current idea is possibly something zebra print or some kind of fuzzy, faux sheepskin. I know that's probably tacky, but it kind of seems like the right kind of tacky, if that makes sense. Anyway, I would love to hear your input.
