How common is a 30% rate increase?

I appreciate your answer, so first, thank you. I did speak to the insurance commission and there was no such increase here, however they did say Geico can come up with any arbitrary increase they want and have it approved. All they have to say is “repairs cost us 30% more in x state and that’s taken at face value, apparently. I just cannot lay down and accept a 30% increase without more transparency for why, especially since their increase does not reflect the statistics for my state. I get the customer service agents don’t have the time to explain every factor… but as a consumer is it not my right to know exactly what factors are affecting my rate?

I’m shopping for other carriers, but in the meantime I’m gathering information. I don’t think such large increases should be allowed without transparent justification.
