How to hide eating habits from unsupportive/nosy family for first 6 months or so? Also, how to hide scars from narcissist mom?

Thanks. Just saw this reply. This is exactly what this comment came off as. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt that OP didn't mean to be negative or rude or anything but for someone who struggles with this and has a family like this, this advice just wouldn't be helpful for me..

For me, I'm protecting my own emotional/mental health by keeping this surgery to myself. I have zero desire to ever share it with or talk about it with anyone...besides my husband...and possibly other post op WLS patients in support groups at the clinic I go to.. *MAYBE*..

I don't want this to define who I am for life although I'm sure the first 1-2 years out it will be a sort of part of my identity. I'd like to just get healthy and be "normal" for once.
