how would you go about getting hired in a Japanese animation company from overseas

So this is my second year but 1st year at the same time. I originally joined the game course because I thought it was what would lead me to my dream of making a 3d story. But the course wasnt what I expected and I also realised that 2d animation was the way to go and I had to swap. But I'm still seeing a similar and repeating problem in uni. Well the first reason is that they are making us learn about all types of animation in the first year even though I wanted to go into second year to specialise in 2d. I tried showing them my pretty decent 2d animation skills. But they still said I should do year 1. They won't give me a very good reason as to why either. Iv learned the stuff they are teaching me on year one for the last 3 years. College included. So you can sort of understand my frustration. I have ability to learn by my self but projects get in the way of my self study/personal projects.

This will sound super lazy but I don't like that uni doesn't just teach you the skills to do stuff. What they do is they give you a small tutorial that's going to be used for the project and they let you try it by your self (note: this doesn't help with my 2d animation goals either). I feel like being coached personally from an online course would be more practical and better use of time and would give me actual skills. I do not see my self learning from university by the end of it, but rather only learning from my self. I don't think that making people learn for them selves is a bad idea... But I've done it for at least three years now and I can confidently say that it is not "necessary". That's my problem but also the only reason I went to uni originally was also to get a degree to make it easier to find places in Japan to live because that's also one of my dreams. But it annoys me that online courses don't have the authority to give degrees out unless they are from universities hence why I'm not doing one. I have more to say but these seem to annoy me the most with uni right now. It feels like a place to do homework rather than learn.
