The thing I really don’t get about the popularity of astrology is that it’s like...not even well-thought-out for a pseudoscience? Like it doesn’t even try to be epistemologically-convincing, it’s just like “stars and planets this way means this thing because some ancient person said so” with no real attempt at metaphysical justification or appeal to really anything other than tradition? I just never felt like it gives you absolutely any reason to believe anything about it other than that it tells you these things are so.

I absolutely don’t understand why it seems to suddenly be so ubiquitous among people my age. Like I’m not at all religious and yet I think most major religions even still make much more convincing claims than astrology does
