I think it depends on your culture really. in the uk/europe losing your virginity at 16 is considered completely normal, legal, and not even early tbh. I lost my virginity at 13 which I think was a bit too early.

but honestly virginity doesn't matter at all. things like having a good social life and being happy come way before that. it's not a magical life changing event. sex is really fun but it's still just an activity like going to a concert or something. there's no need for anyone to feel insecure about having not lost it or losing it too early. it's sad to see people sexually repressed or rushing to loose it just because they feel like they need to.
