Important features request

[NOTE: I am simply a long-time user of SL, and I do not speak for our developers.]

Swiping in the app drawer to switch categories: this has been suggested several times. Our developers have responded that adding that feature would require a lot of work, and create other problems that would have to be addressed, so is not high on their list of priorities.

Creating folders in the app drawer: this has also been suggested several times. I don't recall our developers directly addressing the issue, and it may be on their list of features to add. Based on the fact that it has not yet been implemented, my guess is that, like the first suggestion, it is much easier said than done. Also my guess: part of what makes these first two suggestions difficult to implement is the way that SL handles icons in the app drawer--IIRC, they're image files that get regenerated whenever you make a change (e.g., making a change in the size of app drawer icons, or changing the icon pack you use in the drawer).

Disabling the auto-categorization of apps into a default category that a user has deleted: our developers tell us that autocategorization of apps depends entirely on each app's metadata, over which SL has no control. SL has to have SOMEPLACE to put apps that have been installed so that they can be found and moved to the category where the user wants them to be. While it may be possible to create an "unassigned" category for such apps, the user would still have to deal with moving the app to the category they want it to be in.

More freedom for moving icons on the home page: changing the allocation of space on the home page between the widget portion and the app portion, or changing the way in which apps are placed on the home page, would require substantial changes to the architecture of SL's underlying code. The way it's currently done is one of the features that differentiates SL from other launchers, and is one of the reasons many of us prefer it to alternatives: it doesn't LOOK like other launchers.

Multiple home pages: As explained in the original design principles of SL3 (link below), the app is centered on a single home page that serves as a metaphorical desktop, with a (relatively) small number of frequently-used apps (in the original version, defined by function: phone, music, email, messaging, camera, photos) on the desk itself, and other apps in the app (file) drawer, easy to locate by virtue of SL's autocategorization and search-by-index features. This is another core feature of SL that differentiates it from other launchers.

Finally, all my dreams are implemented, many thanks to the development team! Now this launcher is perfect for me
