I’ve noticed that if the “submit to reddit” page is kept open for more than 3 minutes or if it’s put in the background/minimized and then I come back to post the same thing then the link will certainly misbehave and not display the cover image/icon.

Talked to Reddit support about it last year, the solution they nonchalantly suggested was to delete the post and post it again.

When BL3 went free on Epic last week then I ran into the very same problem but this time it was Epic’s fault (they were missing the proper cover image for BL3 at the time), sadly it took 2 deleted posts to learn that.
