Hi, 2245 rating Blade Master (NA) here. There could be a list of reasons why some Blade Masters don't use blade storm regularly in PvP. In the case of Blade Master vs Sin/Blade Dancer/Warlock/Destroyer/Force Master, you will commonly see Blade Masters running Flock of Blades rather than Blade call. There are a few reasons for this. I'll start with assassin. Assassin is a class that can turn invisible almost the entire game, it's very hard to knock an assassin out of their invis, and when you do, they have lotus, f roll, and tab. Flock of blades can easily be used to knock an assassin out of stealth, as it is a knockback. High rating assassins normally are near-impossible to take their f-roll, lotus, and tab all at once, let alone get a combo in. vs classes like BD/Destroyer, most run it as a grab break. It's the same scenario as vs assassin, except destroyers normally run blue buff and blade dancers have so many resists it's once again near impossible to fully land a combo. vs warlock it's very challenging to know when tab or f roll is on cd, as they look very similar. therefore you can't tell what the cooldowns on either are, so you don't know if they just used f roll or tab and how to combo it, plus warlocks have sanctum and their time ability that we can knock them out of the circle with when using flock of blades, and make them waste a swap with thrall or lose the buff altogether. Force Master is the same as destroyer/BD/sin, it just has too many escapes and can ice the blade call with even one small error. vs all these classes, there is a common thing. It is EXTREMELY challenging to manage to put them into a blade call combo, and hold them in it. You have to think about it: it takes 5 seconds for blade call to warm up before it starts doing damage. That's 5 seconds you have to hold your opponent in that circle, and alot of cc it's gonna take to be up(lunar slash, flicker stun, and lightning retribution(the daze) and something like your 2 which you normally won't have all up vs those classes. Things like KFM and BM, you can run blade call as their only escapes are tab and f roll, which you can keep track of and do the combo at the end of an air combo. versus summoner, it just depends on the Blade Master. Most of us run Blade call vs low tier summs as they normally insta-tab and insta f-roll, so you can just v -> c them then stun lock and that's gonna be your best chance at victory vs the class as BM struggles heavily with summoners. With pros like hanjunho, EnoL, etc. I'm sure they're just not able to stun lock their opponent or their opponent has tab/f roll, as f roll can heavily mess up a BM blade call combo and you, the viewer, just aren't noticing their opponent has one of these escapes up, as these guys are like masters of the game and really know what they're doing. If any other high rating BMs have disagreements, i'm free to talk about it as i'm not perfect and probs made some mistakes as i typed this in like 10 minutes, and i'm sure there are other reasons than what i said that are listed as to why we run these, but that's why I run it.
