Joining The IRA During The Troubles

My da told me about his mate Rocky "Hard Trunks" from West Belfast who tried to join RA back in 85. Apparently new fighters who got trained by some fella called wee Mick had to go through intense trials and training such as waking up and running through fields owned by left footers whilst the undercover Brits followed in their car, then coming back to the farm house and chopping down trees and sawing the logs all in the cold weather. Then later in the evening training by lifting massive stones for the kids to throw up in Derry, doing muscle work in the barn like lifting barrels of fertiliser, lifting up a whole traveller family on their cart, and of course running to the top of Slieve Donard to get away from the undercover Brits and all whilst in the snow to cheerfully and proudly yell from the mountain tops “BRITS OUT OF IRELAND AHHHHHH!!!”
