Foreigners are banned from buying property in New Zealand, Canada should do the same.

Banning professionals and executives who move to Canada for legitimate purposes isn't going to achieve the objectives and might hurt us.

Professionals and executives who plan on living here permanently could apply via Express Entry. That would give them Permanent Residency and they would be allowed to buy property. Worst case scenario, they would come in on a temporary work visa and wait 2 years while they acquire PR. Professionals and executives who plan on living here temporarily would have to rent. From personal experience, most of them are already renters. It wouldn't be much of an adjustment.

Banning Americans from owning ski condos isn't going to free up housing in Vancouver - and might just cause a retaliatory effect against Canadian snow birds who have condos in Arizona, etc.

I couldn't give a shit about Canadians snow birds who own homes in America. I sympathize with the locals in those areas because their property prices are being inflated by non-residents and their neighborhoods are empty.
