Just arrived!

Here are my thoughts spoilers >! What do I think about ALWF? I enjoyed it but not as much as I wanted to. Why? I can summarise in three parts. One. I enjoyed all the bits that were new, but it was half way through before these came with enough regularity to keep me hooked. Two. Whose bio is it? Terry’s or Rob’s? There was too much “me, me, me” in it. And quite often a smug “me me me.” And finally Three. It was a bit like a diary, who we met, where we went to eat and what we ate took as much, if not more, of the page than what the meeting was about.

I really did like the moments where Rob captured the anger that fuelled the machine that created the Discworld though, and there was a lot of that. A lot!

I really hated how Lyn, clearly an important part of Terry’s life, was relegated to popping into the chapel every so often with lemon drizzle cake, there was much more to her than that and now we will never know if the maximum “behind every great man there is a greater woman” is true… ellipsis bell!

I finished the book yesterday, 18th September. It ran better and better and I even laughed aloud about the Apple bough. However, he died, they had some lemon fucking drizzle cake, the end Fucking lemon drizzle cake- am so angry

The importance of being amazed about everything- trinity college. Dublin 2010 makes up a sizeable chunk of this book, and Back in Black

Reread thoughts. Little bits I didn’t like: Lyn and Rihanna’s lack of involvement Lemon drizzle cake Rob’s portrayal of Terry and him being the one entirely- bergamot etc Rob’s displays of wealth, cars, bikes, extensions and so on, vertically wealthy as opposed to Terry’s horizontal wealth. We didn’t need to read any of this, “it’s my mud!” On my fancy new extension.

Am left enjoying most of Terry, annoyed lack of the insight into the family, livid by lemon drizzle cake and really let down by the 30% or so that is Rob’s autobiography !<
