Just finished Cold Steel II, had a question about the next two entries

> Celdic is razed to the ground and somehow only one person is permanently injured

That's the point. The Aristocrats were sending a message not staging a massacre. The mayor wasn't even supposed to die then.

> Garellia is destroyed and again, only one character is affected who LATER COMES BACK ANYWAY.

Sure the soldiers stationed there were practically irrelevant to the story but they were still there during your first visit and most died during the attack.

> Ymir looks functionally the same after being "wasted" aside from a few
pieces of broken wood on the ground and again, the only character hurt
in the attack is just fine later in the game.

Ymir is basically attacked because the Baron refused to side with the Noble faction and he's father to Rean and was sheltering the princess, that's consequence in of itself. There's also the fact that the only reason it didn't get any worse was because they had backup and their primary target was Alfin.

I think you're confusing death with consequence. The series has innate problems with death but the first 2 titles at least show good cause & effect. Credit where it's due.
