I don't understand the reaction, but I'm actually in a similar situation - over two years engaged with no real plans for a wedding. Part of it is that my family would NOT be okay with my ideal wedding, because I want an elopement, but my mom would forever hold it against me, but I also get crazy social anxiety around my extended family (and sometimes around my parents, tbh) and do not want my wedding day to involve anxiety like that.

But we are also just happy right now, so we don't feel any urgency. We live together, and we do everything together. We both have our dresses, but other than that, zero plans.

I will say, though, that Kaitlyn and Jason seem to have made some worrying statements beyond just the basic fact that the wedding hasn't happened yet.
