Lightning Rod's Launch Slowed?

OMGGGGG they are tweeking the ride to get to run better and then get it to run the best it can. Just becuase you watch a video does not mean you know the speed of the video the play back speed or any other detail. Every coaster runs different every day and different times of the day.

The ride is designed to run in a certain launch speed you cant slow it down that much with out it stalling mid ride on the over bank turn.

It sounds as if they are working out the kinks. As for the launch speed, no body except RMC and dollywood know the real numbers. Just because some lame ass press release says 45 dont mean nothing.

Now back to coasters and different operational speeds. The best way to show this is with Mako or Fury. Everybody complains about the TRIM brakes.... They are not trim brakes. They are a speed set brake. The train will always leave the brake at the same speed. This means that the harder that the brake hits means you were going that much faster then you should have been. If the trim doesnt really hit then your speed was as it should and the trim did not hit.

I would expect several changes to LR, speed lessend, less force in the launch and a few other tweeks. The big trick to new tech is go ride it the first few months. Take I305, SOB many others ran like wild and were tamed a bit for the GP.

Give them time the will get it running as best it can. Besides, Voyage is a much better out of control ride then LR.
