Macbinary is a new one...

Sorry for writing a whole damn essay about this, but I got invested. The grammar mistakes are that “Beverage” and “problem” both need to be plural. And while, yeah the person who wrote this probably does know English, the criteria of the sub seems to be very loose/up for debate. I can see your point though. There is a decent bit of conflicting info. The description of the sub says “Phuck ups in english of any kind!”. But rule 4 contradicts this. On top of that, whether or not the post breaks rule 4 is debatable depending on your definition of “clearly didn’t mean to make the mistake” and whether the quantity of errors makes a difference. Because you could argue the person who made the label had it printed knowing there were mistakes, it is hard to make the call on whether or not this breaks rule 4 depending on who you ask. And there are so many mistakes, as well as the fact that macbinery is a very confusing spelling of machinery despite being only one letter off, making it even harder to decide. Then the 2 year old pinned post on the sub states that Engrish is exclusively for when the person who typed/wrote something clearly doesn’t speak English natively. This pinned post wasn’t posted by a mod though, and it seems to have been pinned because people commented on the post to petition to the mods to pin it. So it is still unclear whether that is a definitive rule of the sub. I can say that it was the original intention of the sub, but is it still? Though, at the end of the day, we will never absolutely know if the person who typed this actually natively speaks English or not without assuming. And for a while, it has been much looser since I see stuff on this sub all the time that is just poorly typed like this. So is it really our place to gatekeep what content goes on the sub if the mods are fine with this content being here? Once again, depends on who you ask.

Basically what I’m saying is, does it really matter that much? If these kinds of posts flooded the sub too much, the mods would probably step in, but for now, I think this kinda stuff is fine.
