Upvote if you think millennials are really seriously doomed.

Being an optimist isn’t mutually exclusive with being realistic. And I say realistic because it’s pertinent to your overall point. I’ve seen more bad than good in my years as anecdotal as that is, and I’ve seen far more failures in our fights than successes. But I’ve still seen successes. I can’t in my own way discregard what it took for people before us to get us what we have now. And I more than certainly can’t give up on those suffering now because it seems like the forces against us at too much. I don’t condemn pessimism as I’d be lying if I said I don’t have my fair share.

Pessimism of intellect, but optimism of will.
