McCarthy threatens to strip committee assignments from Republicans who serve on Jan. 6 panel: report

Not particularly relevant. This is political theatre, not a criminal proceeding. Seriously if there were substantial ties to any member of Congress to the events of January 6th the FBI would have fleshed them out by now. They might find some State agents that helped lead a drumbeat, MAYBE 1 or two GOP party agents on the national level but I seriously, seriously doubt there will be a member of Congress that stupid. The main reason I say that is there was all kinds of hints of insane talk even before the election about supporters taking the law into their own hands if Biden "stole" the election. It wasn't until Thanksgiving that some family I knew, people I thought were too smart to be saying what they were that I heard about qanon. I look it up and see these people are crazy. Surely their own Staff were aware and briefed their bosses as well as exchanged info with other members of Congress staff(s) (this is SOP for congressional staffs) to distance themselves from any possible ties. Just because Trump thinks he is smarter than his staff doesn't mean members are that dumb, or arrogant. The GOP is running scared, it's leadership is an utter failure. This is happening so they best get on board.
