I messed up the cropping but man, screw this dude

No. Her arc is that she was forced to be an pretty face as as a corporate character. I always point to the part in Rise's dungeon when they show her being interviewed as an idol and she spits out some corporate friendly nonsense about not caring about how guys look.

The point is that she has to pretend to not value appearance in people, while also only valuing it in herself. How difficult is this to understand, honestly, and that eats away at her and confuses her sense of identity.

My interpretation of her arc is that she values appearance, especially in how she views boys, but that she had to pretend she doesn't to be the "perfect ideal idol" for everyone. Why, exactly, do you think they gave her such a outright and unsubtle attraction to Yu for? It's not just for shipping, and it's much stronger than any other lover arcana in the series, and that's not accidental.

Honestly, I have no freaking clue how people have a hard time accepting this interpretation, when it makes complete damn sense and is consistent with everything that is shown about Rise.
