As Ryu paced around his room, Chion's words echoed throughout his head. They have been, for a while now. Day after day. It had been over a week since Chion had told this to him and Yoshi.

'Raining... TV... Midnight...' Ryu thought to himself. Tonight, the requirements were met. 'This can't possibly be true, can it?'

He glanced at his clock. 11:58PM. He started to have second thoughts of justifying whether this was true or not; perhaps it was just something Chion made up to scare the two? No...that didn't seem likely. After all, Yoshi seemed to have a bunch of information about it written down in a notebook, if he recalled correctly.

Click. 11:59PM.

Ryu's socks dragged against the rug on his floor as he started to pace around the room quicker, keeping his eyes locked with the switched-off TV. The moment of truth approached.

Click. Midnight.

The TV had sprung to life, displaying a silhouette that was hard to make out, accompanied by a plethora of static sliding up and down the screen.

"W-what!?"

Ryu furrowed his brows until they looked as if he sported a unibrow. Was he really seeing this? The silhouette suddenly changed, this time displaying a smaller figure with spikier hair. Ryu, however, disregarded this, as he was still too busy panicking about his first viewing of the Midnight Channel. He reached to his side and fumbled with his pocket until he was able to pull out his phone. Surely he wasn't the only one watching, right?

"S-shit! I don't have Yoshi or Chion's number!"

A look of a mix of astonishment and defeat planted on Ryu's face, the channel soon switched back to a familiar shopping channel, one he had sometimes watched back in Yokohama. He sighed deeply as he sat down on the edge of his bed and reached for the remote, flipping through the channels in an effort to calm himself down.
