Most over-rated player(s) in your opinion?

[–]glorfindel_06 0 points an hour ago  Agree his career average is poor, but since he was worthy of an England place (from 2010) he's had much more success than failures. His career average is a victim of Englands policy of letting players learn in International Cricket rather than in the domestic game. Losing Simon Jones and Flintoffs patchy fitness panicked the selectors and they picked him before he was ready, now I'd struggle to leave him out of an England XI and I wonder who is going to come through to replace him. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Indiagamasenninsama 1 point 3 hours ago  I used to really hate this guy and thought he was one of the most overrated bowlers. He really changed my opinion on the tour of India. I still hate him but he is one of the great fast bowlers of the current generation. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Indiazomglings 1 point 33 minutes ago  You're saying that based on one good match in India. It may have made a strong impression but one of the great fast bowlers of the current generation? The current generation of fast bowlers includes Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel, and Ishant Sharma (I kid). Let me put it this way... maybe English fans will still be talking about James Anderson 20 years from now... maybe. I doubt anyone else will. Mitchell Johnson and Dale Steyn, on the other hand, will still be known to cricket fans across the world. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]DanielPutin 3 points 6 hours ago  I find it really funny how some English love to mock Mitchell johnson like he is the worst bowler in the world but treat guys like Broad and Anderson like Gods. Little do they know that Johnson has a better average than both of them in just about every format. I do respect Anderson and Broad though they are both great match winners on their day. Love watching anderson swing the ball in his home conditions. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Englandcovmatty1 2 points an hour ago  I find it really funny how some English love to mock Mitchell johnson like he is the worst bowler in the world Maybe this happened when he had his reputation for bowling terribly. But now I'd be pretty sure you won't find an Englishman anywhere saying that. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Englandjaqqzorr 1 point 6 hours ago  He's a great bowler, but he isn't on the level of Steyn etc. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]grills 1 point 6 hours ago  And some idiot was comparing him to the likes of Akram and Ambrose yesterday. sigh. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]IndiaDelevingne 2 points 7 hours ago  His lowest bowling average in any country is in England, where he averages 26.4. In terms of skill, I'd put Ryan Harris way, way ahead of him. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]uosa11 3 points 7 hours ago  Anderson's been good in England (where he plays half his matches), and curiously, in India. Everywhere else, he's been middling at best. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]South AfricaThisIsABadNameChoice[S] 16 points 8 hours ago  And the English commentators were arguing over whether he or Steyn is better permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply

formatting helpreddiquette save [–]Indiazomglings 1 point 39 minutes ago  Hahahaha, what a joke. England would drop Anderson in a heart beat if they had to in order to get Steyn on board as another South African import. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]87mz 6 points 7 hours ago  Anderson is the best fast bowler England have got, so it's only fair to compare him to Steyn - the best South Africa have got. Sadly, there is a pretty big difference in mastery. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply [–]Indiazomglings 0 points 37 minutes ago  It's not fair at all. You don't just compare your best to another team's best "just because". I don't even think Anderson is as good as Philander. That doesn't mean he isn't good, but these comparisons are a joke. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply
