Moving to Pine Ridge

I'm (20F) Native btw, I'm only speaking in my point of view/ what I've experienced. The thing is that MANY of us need to be taught about finances and how to manage them. We don't get huge bags of money or free beer either. Natives get taken advantage of a lot because racism. There are have been others that don't even have SHOES because sometimes their family couldn't afford them at that time. Sometimes lawsuits are also what give Natives SOME money, but not enough. Like I said, we need to be taught more about management and need to learn how to not get manipulated by other people. Kids are not entitled, many of them are abused/mistreated, don't know how to act and need more positivity. Mental illness plays a huge factor too! Depression seems to have past down from one generation to the next. Suicide is a big problem for the youth.

Not here for a pity party though, I just wanted to attempt to explain from my perspective that natives matter and that we aren't that privileged. There are misunderstandings out there, but the best thing to do is to try to see things from the other side.
