Why does getting Katara go against the whole Chakra thing? You know he opened his last Chakra in the previous Book finale?

The only thing that ever bothered me about Sozin's Comet is that I knew ATLA would come to an end. I always feel anxious as soon as Ember Island Plays starts popping up.

I think Aang "getting his way" shows that what everybody tells you is right, isn't always right or the only solution to a problem. Aang thought outside the box and meditated on his issue, which prompted the Lion Turtle to appear (bad Deus Ex Machina, I agree). There doesn't have to be only ONE solution to a problem, if you think about it hard enough, you could come up with at least another one.
