Need help make my newly bought pinephone run

Dude.... Sounds like:

  1. You have zero experience with Linux
  2. You have zero idea what you bought

This phone is targeted at devs right now.

Honestly even if you got it running, you wouldn't be happy with it as cameras, gps, and phone calls either don't work out are iffy.

At least read the "important threads" on the forums which literally cover jumpdrive.

For some help:

All jumpdrive does is expose the internal emmc of the phone to your computer so you can flash directly to your phone. Like when you plug in an sd card your computer recognizes it. That's what jumpdrive does. So boot jumpdrive, plug your phone into your computer, and you can use win32diskimager, etcher, DD or whatever to flash a phone os directly to it.

pmOS does not support flashing. You need to use pmbootstrap and build an image.

pmOS phone comes preinstalled with pmOS. There was no flashing needed and you probably hosed something.

My advice now. Grab a Mobian image, flash it to an sd card, and plug it in. It should boot from the card.

If that works you can use a jumpdrive card to flash Mobian to the emmc.
