So if I'm following correctly, one playthrough of OR will get me my Hoenn Starter, as well as a Johto, Sinnoh, Unova Starter and one of the legendary birds. A playthrough of AS with a different Hoenn Starter will get me different J/S/U Starters as well as a different legendary bird.

So maybe just a one replay of either OR or AS should get me the third set of starters and creatures I'd be missing? That doesn't sound TOO bad. Time consuming, but it doesn't sound like I'll be bored :-)

Alternately, there are events between now and November to get a set of Unova starters (for using Pokemon Bank) and a set of Johto Starters (using serial codes), so after three playthroughs I'll have some decent Johto and Unova starters to breed with.

As far as Sinnoh staters, I'm thinking about playing through a used copy of Diamond as well (I have Black & White, so I can eventually move any of my Pokemon through that game into my Pokemon Bank). My Pokemon Ranch is still up, and if I bank enough Pokemon there with either Diamond or Pearl I'll be able to get my hands on a legit Mew. Thinking about taking advantage of that before WiiWare finally gets retired. And then I'll have a game to arrange a second set of Sinnoh starters for breeding as well, when I'm done.

Crap, so I'm talking about at least three playthroughs of OR/AS, and a playthrough of Diamond that includes collecting 999 Pokemon (as well as at least enough replays to trade two other starter Pokemon off into Black, so I can transfer them to ORAS, so I can put them in the Pokebank...). Assuming XY will also take at least three playthroughs to get everything, it sounds like it's going to be a busy year :-)
