I now use "I'm actually a trap" as an excuse to get them away from me. If it doesn't work? I push the lie a little harder and get progressively worse and worse.

Your gender literally doesn't matter in this context though. Contrary to popular belief, belonging to a minority is not a free pass to use slurs in any context while expecting other people to be okay with that and consider it harmless. If you and your friends throw that term around because you think it's funny that's one thing, but using it to scare someone off just reinforces harmful stereotypes and presumptions which that person probably isn't gonna keep to themselves. It gives them ammunition. Like, they just got a great story they can tell at the next BBQ with friends when they wanna discuss how trans women are so predatory and why they shouldn't be permitted in women's bathrooms or whatever it is transphobes discuss at BBQs. Reinforcing transphobic beliefs isn't exactly gonna help in gaining more acceptance for trans and nonbinary people. The slur is probably not even the biggest problem here, the reinforcement of prejudices towards trans women you gave them is.
