For almost all of human history, a system of patriarchy has been in place, which makes complete sense, considering men are superior in physical strength, and strength is equivalent to survival. This idea is similar to Darwin's survival of the fittest. However, in the western culture, an ideology called feminism has emanated. “The first Women's Conference…in Seneca Falls, America, 1848 [was held.]…The Women's Movement evolved out of social reform groups such as the Abolition of Slavery, the Social Purity and Temperance movements(studies)." Unfortunately, parts of the globe that aren’t westernized, especially the Middle East, are 167 years behind. They still have a strong system of patriarchy, but times are changing! “[Feminist] campaigned upon a whole range of issues; from guardianship of infants, property rights, divorce, access to higher education and the medical professions, to equal pay and protective legislation for women workers - many of which women are still campaigning for today (studies)!" In the past, feminism has had a huge impact on western culture, and is starting to effect some non-western cultures.
I do believe feminism was once a great cause to fight for, but in the west, it has become a drawn out battle that the feminist don't even know what it is they are fighting for. They lack a common ground. People are uncomfortable about feminism because it used to be a great theory, but it has been lost in the abyss. A few examples of the modern feminist fight include "the decrying the gender politics of pockets, because women’s pockets are smaller and therefore struggle to fit the iPhone 6(hardy)?" Or free-bleeding, which is the act of not using a tampon during ones period because of the oppressive patriarchy! As a modern radical feminist , they believe that "patriarchal oppression becomes that thing you don’t like (hardy)." A radical feminist is like a terrorist, they take something good like lets say Muslim religion, and take it to the extreme to ruin it for everyone else. 'They say there is a gender pay gap and while that is true, it is only the tip of the iceberg. The pay gap is calculated by the earnings of all men vs earnings of all women. But it doesn't take into account occupation, positions, education, hours worked. For example if you compare male vs female doctors you will see a huge pay gap, but that is because males are more likely to pursue higher paying positions(youtube).' There is also a huge double standard when it comes to "equality". The feminist in the western world are fighting not for equality but for superiority in my humble opinion. This is exactly what Radical feminist or feminazis want. Even if you look at the trends of biology, woman tend to live longer than men. When there is a sinking ship, women and children are always the first to get off. When there is a war, only men get drafted. If a woman hits a man in public, people will just assume the man deserved it, but if a man hits a woman , the man would be stopped immediately by passerby.
Feminism used to operate towards worthy goals and ideas. In modern western society there is very little, to no need for the movement to continue. Many "people in the United States believe that gender equality has been achieved(swirsky)." Feminism is a dying movement as the number of woman who identify is about 21%(swirsky). While I do agree with the original theory of feminism, it has been too stretched out and there is "lack of self-identification with feminism...[because there are] women who identify with some principles of feminism but dislike the label(swirsky)."
